I am involved in an oil field proccessing project.the pipeline discipline has asked me before to calculate the surge pressure which may be happened during operation to acount it as an alternative design condition to select the appropriate class for pipeline.the pipeline material is GRP.Since the pipes which are used in that unit have the same material, the piping discipline ask me to calculate the surge pressure for all pipes which are in the process area.since there are too many pipes and the size and length of them are not as long as pipeline,is it usual to do it for all of them.

Shorter pipes give the fastest pressure rise.
