Surface texture on Acme threads

Can anyone reccomend whether they would suggest a surface finish on the thread face of an ACME thread.

The problem i have is that on occasion the machinists we use produce some screwed couplings where the thread face has a really rough finish.

If the rough finish is causing issues, then it seems reasonable to specify a better one.

However, I'd check into the actual ACME thread standard to see what if anything it says before adding a separate/additional requirement.
