Surface Roughness and Electrical Connectivity

Good morning, everyone. Can anyone point me in the direction of a good resource relating surface roughness and/or topology to electrical contact performance? Are there maximum/minimum roughness characteristics that are recommended for mated parts conducting electricity? Do these change with voltage/amperage? If you think this would be better received/responded to in a different forum, please point me in the right direction. Thanks.
