Suppress folder and mates

Whenever I suppress a folder, all of the items in it are suppressed (as expected). But how can I make it suppress the items in the folder AND all of their mates? If I suppress the folder, I get a bunch of broken-paperclip mate symbols. SW help doesn't say how, and a search on here didn't cover any answers.

SW used to have an option to suppress with all dependents. Have you found and tried that option to see if it works?

Apparently not anymore because there is an "UNsuppress with dependents", but not a "suppress with dependents". By the way, the "suppress with dependents" is for configurations, and it doesn't suppress the mates in folders.
