Hi!

I'm trying to create a series of views in drafting mode on NX 7.5 that show alternative features from the general arrangement views on the same sheet. How do I suppress or show different features in each of these views? For example, in a certain execution you would need to include a hole in your part, but this hole is not a standard part feature. I want to create a view on the side of my sheet that shows this hole as a variation of the general arrangement drawing in the main views (where the hole is not shown). How do I do this? Is it possible?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Chris

You could create a model with ALL possible features in it and then in the views where you want certain features not to be seen, you would use 'View Dependent Editing' to 'erase' the curves which represent the missing features. Now if the curves that need to be removed are simple and not all the many, this might actually prove to be the most efficient approach to take since it involves the least extra data. However, if your models are more complex or there are lots of views which would need to be edited or a lot features which would need to be 'erased' from each view, the only other approach would be to build in the master model a solid body for each variation that you intend to show in a specific view on your Drawing. You would put each of these variations on a separate Layer in the model and then when creating the Drawing views you would set each view's 'Visible in View' layer status so that only the variation of the model that you wished to see would be visible in that view.
