I have an application to "Top offload" viscous chemical (1600cP) from the Rail car and the pump is located at the Grade.

The elvation of the bottom of the rail car and highest point of the loading arm is 20ft. Is it possible to have gear Pump which unload the material without pressurizing the Rail car with Air/Nitrogen?

It should be possible to do that.
The flow may start faster if you pre-charge the siphon pipe with the chemical.

I have some doubts that it will work. Your pipe/hose goes up and then back down to the pump? And the pump has to lift the viscous fluid initially 20' up? Puh! That's more than tough. Gear pumps don't like dry running and the siphon will always cause trouble. Or am I wrong with my imagination about your system?

I didn't say it was a _good_ idea. ;-)
