Successful mesh but no mesh displayed

I meshed an assembly using solid elements and specified 4 U-joints to be created. Upon generating the mesh, it said that the mesh was successful, but it doesn't display the mesh. I tried layer control to no avail since it mentioned that there are no things to view.

My colleague mentioned that it should have created new parts for the joints, but it seems I still have the same of parts alhtough the program declared a successfull mesh.

Sorry I haven't responded sooner, but let me ask a few questions:

1) What version of Algor are you using?

2) I assume you have turned on the view so that you would see the mesh instead of just the rendered part?

3) Are the parts selected to be meshed (if you right click on the part in the part tree when in FEMPro, is there a check beside "Select for Meshing" for each part)?

4) Have you tried creating the joints after creating the mesh? (If you are in v.19 or earlier, you can't really do this)


If you can generate the mesh without creating the U-Joints, you can generate contact elements in FEMPro and redesignate the contact elements as beam elements to create the universal joint. It's a little tricky, but I can walk you through it if it will help. The end result would be the same.
