subbase/base problems

Dear All,

I am the practicing engineer on road works. I have laid the base course. But heavy rain fall occurred before I get time to apply prime coat. Now I don't think that base performs well. what are the remedial measures so that I could get desired compaction? Someone could help in this matter. Its urgent.

Scarify, dry and recompact.

thanks for the reply. does recompaction only can give desired compaction after certain dry?

compact to the specified density, which is much easier at optimum moisture content. if it is too wet you may not achieve max density. dont worry about the prime coat, just get a layer asphalt down before it rains again.
