I am a student looking to design a fairing for a supermileage vehicle
in catia. Heres some picture of what some of the vehicle look like, Cars.

What is the best way to make the fairing in catia? I was thinking of
using a multisection surface loft constrained by some guide curves ....
using sections about every 6 in or so. Not sure if this is the best way
to approach it. Anyone have any ideas to help me?

Thanks

Yeah well hi jason,

Why don't you start off with the KISS process and procedure( Keep It Simple Stupid). First get a good design shape going by using Imagine & Shape in V5 then importing the design into Mech or Freestyle Surface to finalise constraints. Are you in Sydney? if so email me on roberthealey5@yahoo.com.au

To get smooth surfaces, use Freestyle Shaper and Control-point deform a simple patch to the shape required.
Do not make the patch complex with too many control points.
Check the shape dynamically as you deform it with Section analysis.
Use Blend to connect patches.
