Hi everybody

I hope somebody can help me with a few questions. Asking here is an attempt to take a shortcut.

We have a project that will be built in China. Is is a steel structure on a process industri. The location is in Rizhao on the east between Qingdao and Shanghai.

According to the information I currently have the following codes are applicable:

GB 50009-2012 Load code for the design of building structures
GB 50017-2003 Code for design of steel structures

For the loading is seems reasonable but is the steel code the latest revision?

Also, the location Rizhao (chinease east coast north of Shanghai), does that mean seismic loading? I don't yet have access to the seismic code so any help would be appreciated.

I also noticed that there are two seismic codes:

GB 50011-2010 Code for Seismic Design of Buildings
GB 50223-2008 Standard for classification of seismic protection of building.

Does anybody know if I need both for a design or will one of them (the first?) suffice?

I have found a site called codeofchina.com. Does anybody know if that is a reliable source?

Any help or guidance would be appreciated.

Best Regards

Thomas

I am from China and would like to help. I left China more than 10 years and I am kind of rusty of Chinese codes. However, I will post your questions on Chinese forum and let you know if there is any helpful responss.

Thank you for your kind help.

As information, I recieved the chinese code this afternoon and some of the questions have already been answered. But I have some reading to do before I have all the answers.

And I very much appreciate any help.
