stress analysis new buried pipelines - liquid

We are putting together an engineering schedule for pipelines and the requirement for stress analysis came up. What as a minimum would be needed/ or is typically carried out for pipelines and why? Thank You

Does this vary much for gas?

Also, look at ASME B31.1, Nonmandatory Appendix VII on restrained underground piping systems.

Suggest you invest in Australian Standard AS 2885.1

 
could you specifie buried pipe material.if FRP, you have to work with AWWA C950 and AWWA VOLUME 45
