Hi,
I would like to know if there is any documentation on the strength of laser weld. Is it about 80% of the material strength?

Regards.

You would get a lot from "Welding Metalurgy" by Sindo Kou. It was published in 1987 by Wiley & Sons. A properly spec'd fusion weld in weldable material should usually produce a weld that exceeds the tensile strength of the parent material. Remember to minimize the heat affected zone. Hopefully you're using a constant wave "keyholing" process with a high weld velocity.
