Dear Sir/Madam,

I wonder if anyone can provide me with a procedure for calculating a Stiffening Ring, as the one presented in ASME VIII - UG-29 for cylindrical shells, but without circular cross section (it's a square to circular nozzle). Note that I am not limited to a Code.

Thanks in advance.

ist49869,
Is there any reason you cannot apply Appx. 13?
Cheers,

Yes, ignorance. Sorry, I am new to ASME VIII, for most of my work I only need AWWA.
Best regards.

I agree with ist49869. Appendix 13 is a great start. I have also found this forum to be a great asset.
