Sterilization machine/cold spot failure

The range of the cold spot temperarure during an ETO (ethylene oxide) sterlization cycle is 45-55 C. The graph displays 44.9 C ones. What could be the possible causes for this parameters outside the expected range.

0.1 degree Celcius is only 0.2% of the value you are measuring. Does whatever instrument is measuring the temperature have better than 0.2% overall uncertainty? Is it calibrated? You are assuming the sterilising machine is out of spec, but unless you are using a precision instrument then you don't really know.
