Hi All,

I have to work out capacity of some existing steel grillage foundations for few towers on a route. I have designed concrete foundations for transmission towers but have never designed or come across grillage foundations before.

Can someone please tell me where I can find some literature or guidance on how to assess existing steel grillage foundations and how to design new ones? The work is in Australia but any literature would do.

Thanks a lot

We have a few very old towers that use the grillage foundation but I'm a structural guy and don't do foundations. I usually tell people, I put my T-Line tower mistakes up in the air for everyone to see and don't bury them in the ground away from prying eyes. :)
