I have some doubt in steel design. Normally i based on the plastic modulus Sx= M/Py to find the steel section. But in case of c-channel, the channel must put in the "C" manner would be effective. If let say put in "n" manner and the load come in vertical, so is that i need to base on Sy to determined the size instead of Sx?

M=momen
Py=design strength N/mm2

Thanks.

It sounds like you have it. Look at F6 in the 13th edition manual for weak axis bending of a channel.
