When designing a frame with a moment plate connection with plates on the top side of the beam, what should be done with the decking? Does it normally continue over the plates or is it cut and framed out with angles so as not to warp the decking?

The roof deck (untopped) is the diagphragm. I assume if the plates were 1" thick, you would need to provide some sort of tapered shim plate so the deck bears fully on the beams and can be welded?

What is typically done in these instances?

If the deck continues over, i assume any roof insulation would need to be modified so the drainage path would be maintained?

Again, just curious on what is typically done here.

Cut and framed around, our typ detail shows small angles.
