Dear All

I am going to design a beam to column connection with ETABS, the problem is I want to design a welded connection but ETABS give me a option for welding on column and bolt on beam. how can I fix it ?

Don't use ETABs to design it if it has this limitation (I personally don't know because I don't use ETAB's for any automated design work).

Back in the day people used to design stuff by hand, sometimes even using first principles approaches to develop some sort of solution, perhaps you could try something similar? How were you going to check the big black box solution that ETABS is giving you anyway?
