steam ejector

iam working in a salt manufacturing plant and there is a part in the process we use steam ejector to create vacum but i donot know a lot of information on this part and how it is designed and works
so....
can any one help?

Ejectors don't "create" the vacuum. They maintain it by removing non condensables that would 'blanket' condensing surface and retard or prevent condensation.

Not to be confused with a "hogging jet" or vacuum pump that does in fact pump out air and non condensables so that condensation can begin to take place. But once it does, the collapse of the vapor being condensed 'creates' and maintains the vacuum. The jets just insure that it can continue against leakage into the system of non condensables.
