Hi, everybody
Today i had discussion with colleagues about DCS and ESD. They would like to use one (common) field junction box and then multipar cable and marshalling panel for DCS and ESD systems without any separation.
Could you please give me the stds numbers to study this issue. Previously I always kept those systems separately (transmitters, cables, jbs, marshallings…) But I’ve never checked the reasons.
And what about F&G? I persuade them to keep it completely separately.
Please help me to prove.
Regards
Zhan

For safety shutdown consider ISA 84 and IEC 61511. The system segregation is mentioned in about one sentence in API 14C, applicable to offshore platforms. Although it is a good practice you may not find a requirement for separate junction boxes or cables.

JLSeagull, thank you
