We have developed a static electricity problem on our system when we blow down steam lines. We've checked our grounding grid and it is in good shape. We have run tests on it by grounding the pipe at the steam discharge and even in the steam and this has not helped. We have tried adding a filming amine to the steam to see if it would help and it had no effect. About 3 years ago, we went to ultra-high purity feedwater and therefore low impurity steam. Not sure if this had any effect. We are a gas plant, so would like to ensure that we minimize or have no static build-up. Any suggestions?
