starch extraction

Dear Sir,
Do you know the method for extraction of starch from "potato" or "flour" IN HOME ?
I am sure that in some vilages in my country do this , But How?

1.) Grind/grated
2.) Wash

The starch is inside of cells, so you have to grind or grate
it to free the starch particles.

Then you wash them out with water and let it stay to settle
