Greetings ENG-TIPS ... first post for me.
I've been looking for an API or other industry standard that provides some guidance on methods and frequency of inspection for safety restriction orifices (ROs). These ROs would be installed to prevent overloading flare headers or downstream PRVs due to an upstream disturbance. I've not been able to find any supporting text in API 510, 570, RP 14C, etc. My colleagues and I have developed a draft inspection strategy for use in our oil and gas facilities, but I'd like to see if there is an industry standard that we can also review and consider. Any other comments about inspection strategies are welcomed.
