I am required in as brief a space of time as possible to answer a query :

The essential differences between API 6A ( Well Head/Xmas Tree Applications ) and API 5000 Type 6B

Any assistance on this query is appreciated

API 5000 6B is the old nomenclature for a 5000 psi API flange. The specifications for this flange which are now included in API 6A.

Also you will find explanations of 6B, 6BX, etc. Look for explanations of PSL levels, temperature ranges, etc. in the appendix sections of the catalogs on this site.
