We have a junction box specification that asks for 316 stainless steel captive clamps. Am I correct in assuming that these clamps are for cable screens?

Thanks

What type of cable is usually used with these junction boxes?

The word 'captive' in this context often means that the clamp is effectively part of, or attached to, the junction box in such a manner that it can't easily be separated during normal maintenance. In such cases, they'd normally be included with the junction box.

I don't think it has anything to do with shielded cables.

Standby for others to confirm. Or not.

Are you sure that the clamps are not the ones for closing the junction box lid?
