Referring to thread135-277610 and the initial question from PSP113 -- we experience rain-related opacity events on our lime kiln. We are located about 45 miles inland, along the TX gulf coast.
The opacity monitor was manufactured by Durag. Have had it inspected by the manufacturer and an independent consultant.
In August 2011, we installed a heater on the purge air system (to keep moisture from condensing). Since then, we've had little rain but still had one opacity excursion.
PSP113 -- where is your facility located? have you been able to solve the problem?
