Over here in the U.S. Franklin Electric makes stainless steel motors for use with submersible well pumps. Most gasoline ( petrol ) filling stations over here use submersible pumps that are inside the underground tanks. You might want to do a search for submersible fuel pump or submersible gasoline pump and see what you get.
You may have to use an American style motor that is U.L. Listed and uses U.S. mounting dimensions. A lot of our NEMA dimension motors are designed to operate on 50 Hertz power at reduced voltage and speed. In some cases the motor is robust enough to produce full power at 50 Hertz and some only produce 5/6 power at 50 Hertz.
You might need to use a variable frequency drive to bring the frequency up to 60 Hertz for your application and use an inductance between the drive and the motor. Some 3 phase in 3 phase out drives can be programmed to run a single phase motor but the drive and inductance would have to be sized to supply the locked rotor current of the motor. For most single phase motors variable speed operation would not be possible because that would interfere with the start winding and capacitor and so forth.
The past few editions of our National Electrical Code have included the IEC hazardous location standards and so forth so that electrical installers and inspectors can evaluate European equipment that is use in the U.S.
