Hi,
Can anybody tell me what is the difference between SRS and frequency response? I mean, both SRS and frequency response inputs a graph of G against Hz. So if I have a SRS curve which is exactly the same as a frequency response curve, will the output be the same or different? Why?

Thanks a lot!

See Mil-Std-810F Method 516.5. SRS, Shock Response Spectrum is a way of characterizing system response to shocks.

SRS is a theoretical response of a generalized structure to a shock input. It is not related to a specific structure. It is said to indicate relative damage potential as a function of natural frequency. SRS plots are generated using specific damping of the SDoF models; your structure will no likely have the same damping. Most authorities agree that SRS should be used only for transients.
