Squirrel cage motor question

Have a GE 4706 motor hooked up to a squirrel cage. Would like the squirrel to run faster. The heat / AC unit is a very old Bryant. The motor burned up a number of years ago and the GE was installed in it's place. Since that time the volume of the AC unit is not high enough to cool the house properly. The temperature of the air coming out of the ducts is 62F, a drop of about 20 degrees, but the volume is very low. I want to increase the volume so that the AC won't run night, and day. Please help.

I didn't understand what exactly you mean by 'motor hooking up to a squirrel cage'. Is it that the motor is a squirrel cage induction motor? In that case, do you have a 3-phase supply given to your motor?

Please clarify this in order to discuss a solution.
