Hello. I work for a valve manufacturer who manufactures various types of Butterfly valves. The two main types are swing through & double offset. We tend to favor a one-piece shaft design rather than a two-piece. However, we cannot locate any literature on why we favor two-piece over one piece & wondered if it was taken from an engineering standard. Has anyone come across any standards that may advise on this or can anyone offer any pros/cons on both alteratives?
