Hi All,

As in subject. Is there any surface specification for the camshaft spline from DIN 5480? I have found in the office some parts of this norm (1,6 and 14) but there is nothing about surface spec. Does anyone know if there us any requirements for it?

Cheers

I would think 250 microinch would be the worst case
depending on size. You as a vendor know the application
and can specify the required surface finish. I doubt
there is a specification.

dinjin is right. If you have a print look for a symbol that looks like a "V" with a horizontal line from the second leg of the "V" and a number i.e. 6.3 or 3.2 or 1.6.. That will be your required "Ra" value in µ
