Spindle thread size

I have a supsension spindle 'snout', with an odd thread, but not overly odd, in that I can go to any of the NASCAR spindles, and it matches.

The thread OD measures .831, and it is 20 threads per inch, but this doesn't match any Unified, or other standard thread that I have found.

Any insight on what this thread size might be?

Thanks,
Dave

ps Just for clarity, by "spindle", I meant the portion of the suspension upright, that the bearing and hub slide on. The thread in question holds the hub assembly on.

Everything should be designed as simple as possible, but not simpler.

Spindle pin, pinion shaft, steering wheel, rear floating axle hub retaining nuts are often odd size and/or extra fine thread.

Are they some sort of industry standard?

We want to machine a unique spindle snout, but retain the ability to use the same nuts, thus the thread data would be nice to have.

Thanks

If the thread was rolled, the OD may be a little undersize. I suggest checking over wires.

We got a pitch diameter of .809 using wires, which still doesn't match anything that I've found.

Gunman,

Check out the attached link for the sizes of some special bearing retainer nuts. There are some oddball sizes that may match your shaft.
