Hi. I just bought a gear wheel from ebay with the following specs:

10PCS 10teeth 1.25 mold+39teeth 1 mold Φ5mm hole Double Plastic Motor Gear Wheel

The outer wheel is the 39 teeth while the inner wheel is 10 teeth. The outer wheel has a diameter of about 1.5".
Hooking up to my motor I realized that the speed is a little fast.
I want to slow down the output by 1/2. So I need to get a smaller wheel (half as big) to mate with the (now) 39 teeth wheel.
Please advise on mechanical specs for gear to accomplish this. Thank you.

p.s. the link to the ebay part is:

Hi

If you want to slow down the output speed through the 39 tooth gear then you need to increase the gear size to twice the size of the 39 tooth gear you have at present, similarly with the ten tooth gear section, you could use that on the motor and reduce the speed by half by increasing the driven wheel by twice the size of the driving gear.
In nutshell use a 78 tooth wheel or a 20 tooth wheel and gears will need to have the same module number which from the information you have supplied I cannot ascertain what it is.
