Spark-Ignition Engines Friction Model

In SAE Technical Paper, "An Improved Friction Model for
Spark-Ignition Engines", number 2003-01-0725 there is a variable called piston roughness constant. Anyone know the range of values for this variable?
Also, I would appreicate information on other papers computing automotive engine friction in terms of Mean Effective Pressure.
