Hi Folks,

I have faced difficulties with meshing - beam188 nodes are not connected with shell181 as it should be.
My model consist of shell and line/beam elements. All within SpaceClaim constructed from various components and bodies, with multiple assemblies. Share Topology is launched. Nevertheless I receive this POP-UP after meshing in Mechanical: "One or more beam edge topologies could not be shared".

Is there any good practice how to use SpaceClaim for share topology when you have a pretty sophisticated geometry with many of components at various tree-depth-levels?
(I cannot share the model, nor screens in that case...)

Regards!

In my experience, shared topology is a crapshoot. Sometimes it works as intended, sometimes it does not.

My workaround to this problem has been either to do manual mesh connections within Mechanical, or doing manual mesh connection using apdl command objects or even switching to apdl altogether when I’m really desperate.

That’s the trouble you run into slap on a “modern” GUI without actually changing the legacy code of the pre/post processor.
