My company has recently had a need to source some weldable structural steel sheet in a variety of thickneses down to about 16 gauge. We need a yield strength of 50ksi or greater, ductility over 10% (though more would be greatly desireable) and it needs to be something we can buy more or less off the shelf.
I would have thought that ASTM A1011 grades, in grade 50 or higher would be the obvious answer, but these just don't seem to be available, at least not in smaller quantities.
Could anyone suggest either a suitable alternative that would do the job, or, even better, a source for this material in 16 gauge and up?
Any help appreciated!
