Sound notification after a job finishes?

Hey,

I was wondering if there is an option in abaqus to get a sound notification after a job finises or hits an error. I'm usually doing something else while abaqus is calculating so it would be useful to have a sound to tell me when I can get back to tweaking my model.

If I remember correctly you can have an email sent when a job completes. I hope this helps.

For sending yourself an email, take a look at this link. For sound, add the following piece of code:

load handel.mat;
nBits=16;
sound(y,Fs,nBits);

You can use Mtail.exe to check changes to a file, such as the .sta file, that will play a noise to wake you up when the job has finished.
