Hi everyone,

I am not very familiar with solidworks API functions so any help would be very appreciated. I have a software that scans a surface and stores the points in a file, is it possible to take that file and use solidworks to generate a 3d solid of the surface using the file. If so what functions would I need to use and is there a special format for the file.

Thanks for any input on the subject

Use the keyword search for this forum, and search for "point cloud data", you should find what you are looking for.
