We are still using SW2006 sp5.1 and are about to create a rather involved presentation using Delmia. A question has risen that I have challenged from the people doing our presentation. They stated that they would be much better off if they could open files saved from SW2006 sp0 but that is not possible. Has anyone had negative experience with this. Not sure why they need sp0 but this seems to be their desire but they claim it is not possible.

Strange.

Regards.

Perhaps they are using a version of Delmia which was introduced when SW06 SP0 was released. It may not be fully compatible with newer SW versions or SPs.

If they require something in SWX06 the SP should not matter. Any version of SWX06 would work. I have routinely worked with folks on different SPs within the same version of SWX and never had a file compatibility issue.

SWX06 can open a file in any previous version, but you would not be able to open an '06 file in SWX05.

I would not expect the '05 file to be a problem, but the best thing to do is to test the situation. If you are worried about file corruption then be sure to only use copies or special test files.
