Solid Edge Version 5 Draft Problem

I have a problem with solid edge version 5 draft environment. I want to open a 3-d part file and select the views to be placed on my draft sheet. However, when I click on the "open" button instead of the window that lets me select orientation of the principle view, my mouse turns into an hour glass and my computer freezes up. Can anyone help.
