Where can I find some reference/typical values of E for soil using Mohr-Coulomb Model in finite element analysis (such as values for loose, midium, dense sand, or soft, stiff clay?) Thank you in advance.

tipsabc,

Table 4.4.7.2.2A in AASHTO Standard Specifications for Highway Bridges (HB-17) presents a table of Elastic modulus ranges for several different soil types based on information published by Bowles and the US Navy.
-----
Barring that, The US Navy, in DM7.01, suggests the following correlations for Es:

Es(tsf)/N1 (corrected SPT N)

Silts, sands silts, slightly cohesive silt-sand mixtures: 4
Clean, fine to med, sands & slightly silty sands: 7
Coarse sands & sands with little gravel: 10
Sandy gravels and gravel: 12

Es/qc (from CPT - same units as qc)

Sandy soils: 2
-----
Bowles has many ranges and empirical correlations listed in Tables 2-6, 3-5 and 5-5 from the 1982 edition.

Hope this helps.

Jeff
