Some one can point me to the right direction(any correlations) to calculate spring constant for a rigid mat foundation. Any field testing can be performed to evaluate the spring constant?

I have been told by at least one geotechnical engineer that k = 25 psi/in for a large mat foundation. That is what I always use.
