I want to draw in a sketch, a smooth transition from a straight line to an arc using a clothoid / euler curve, any advice appreciated.

Why not just make the arc tangent to the line?

Hi. It is tangential, but this gives a stepped acceleration at the point of change

Use a spline and add equal curvature constraints to each end.

Use a Spline, Style Spline or Conic with Equal Curvature contraints.
