Does anyone have a chart or listing of smog pump CFM output ratings?

WWARROW:
Smog pump outputs are speed dependent and very low, Proabably a few cubic feet per minute. The pressure is low also - probabaly a couple of PSI. My chevrolet service manual says to check the smog pump by removing the hose from the check valve and feel for airflow. ANY flow is acceptable. Make sure exhaust gases are not blowing back through the check valve.

Smog pumps are basically small sliding vane blowers that are inexpensive to make. The whole system is very crude

Why do you ask?

Regards
Dave

Thanks for the reply, cessna1. I'm doing some exhaust R&D but can't really go into any detail.

Smog pump plots are available at the OEMs, but I haven't got one.
Pressure output must exceed maximum exhaust backpressures, though, so I'd expect they can develop 10 - 12 psi at the very least.

I can recall that one such common pump at Ford drew about a horsepower at rated rpm, normal maximum rpm. Either the little buggers are enormously inefficient, or they have a pretty significant flow rate. Considering what exhaust flow rates are, that's not so surprising.
