Im trying to make a comparison between Special Moment Frame and Concentrically Braced Frame on a simple eight storey building using nonlinier pushover analysis. I used SAP2000, there's some basic thing that I wanna ask. When Im trying to analyze those two structures (SMF and CBF) theres a big differences on the column's axial load, on the middle column of CBF its getting more axial load than the SMF, which is making the plastic hinge appear first on the middle column of CBF.

- those two structure is typical which is has same member and loads, only adding the brace element on the CBF one.
