There’s been a lot of smart wallets with a card slider mechanism (some use spring loaded mehanism , others with a basic linkage mechanism) what do you think would be the smartest mechanism to build for a card slider in a wallet?

JDIAB,

I have problems taking this question seriously. Can I assume this is a wallet that lives in your pocket? Is there a keypad on it that allows me to select a card, so that it can slide out, and I can use it? Why would I do this?

Perhaps this will impress female mechanical engineering students in bars! Are there enough of them to make this worthwhile?

Seems a bit silly, considering that you still have to take the wallet out of your pocket, and you can get NFC cards or tokens, which wouldn't require the card to come out of the wallet at all.

Im not asking how it’s made , there’s more than one mechanism , each brand uses a differnet one, im asking what do you guys think in ur opinion would be the best mechanism to adopt to make a card slider like these , functionality wise and production-cost wise

I'd go with one that had the fewest individual parts, but still looked good. Like a rubber band.

Sorry... What is the point of the question? Are you trying to decide what to try to copy? Because in that case intellectual property issues are probably involved, regardless of what mechanism is better to try to make. You really are expecting a lot here. You want us to go online, research different wallets, try to find technical detail on the mechanism, analyze manufacturability and cost, and write you a report? If so, how much money is in your current wallet?

"functionality wise and production-cost wise"

These tend to be mutually exclusive. If you are a fly-by-night outfit, then the latter is more important, but if you intend/expect to stay in business in the long run, then quality and reliability are ascendant.

I always found my wife to be an excellent card removal system, no further mechanism necessary 😂
