Why when I insert my smart fasteners into a whole, they are inserted backwards? Is there a way to change this?

Thanks

I think. When do I begin to tab? When I do press tab, it just goes to the next field.

I click the Smart Fasteners icon, then "select" the hole i want, then click add. Then when I tab it just goes to Top stack selection, then bottom stack, ect.

I don't use Smart fasteners, I just pick out the right fastener/washer etc. from the toolbox. If it's installed upside down, I just flip one of the mate's auto-generated alignments (edit mate or right-click on mate) until its fitted correctly.
This mate-flipping works for smart fasteners too. I just tried it.

I'm with pietje, I don't use smart fasterners.

You can hold down the "ctrl" or "tab" key (I forgot off the top of my head) when inserting the parts and it will flip into the position you want when inserted. Or you can flip it manually as mention in this thread.

Similar subject but I also use drag and drop. BUT even when the holes are drilled with the hole wizard metric countersink screws always go in upside down with the head buried in the plate and the screw sticking out in the air. I have been complaining since 2000 and embarassing their demos whenever possible but its never changed. I know we can press the tab or altermate button but why should we. There is only one way to fit a countersink screw so why cannot the (expensive) program get it right!!!

Hmmmm I feel better now

Azum and Alvan9, I understand your pain. There are a lot of bugs (I mean a lot) in the software that were never fixed and keep prorogating into newer software versions. I've also complained for years about the little bugs, I found and SW chooses to ignore through my enhancement requests. There main focus is to create new software every year which I don’t agree with. Yes, there’s some new cool stuff, but feel they’re adding bells and whistles we don’t need. Example: drawing backgrounds that look like old manual drawings with coffee stains? I need to design products and create drawings, and really could give a rats a%$ about added software items like this. Don’t get me wrong, it’s killer software, and I love to use it everyday, but SW’s vision… I think, is going into the wrong direction.

Colin,
You'll be happy to hear that, for 2009, SW is focusing on stability/reliability/fixes and not more bells and whistles (though there are a few of them as well)

Jeff, that is great news my friend. Sorry I sound alitte bitter, but these so called little bugs drives me crazy.
