Small pneumatic reservoir required...

Hi chaps (and chapesses!),


I am looking to buy some small pneumatic reservoirs, rated to at least 7 bar (100PSI).

The smallest I can find is 100ml (6.1 cubic inches), from Norgren, however I require a reservoir approximately 1/3rd the volume of that - 30cc (1.8 - 2.0 cubic inches).

Can anybody help with / advise where to go for this as it will be easier to buy stock parts than design one to build on to our system.

I require 250 units per annum

You might be able to find a reservoir that small in a CO2 Cartridge. The only company I knew that made the actual cylinder doesn't exist anymore. You might be able to purchase filled ones and modify the end to suit your requirements. They are mostly steel but I've have seen some Aluminum ones.

Sample cylinders go down to 50 CC, since they are usually higher pressure and SS they are quite expensive.

Cleared the cobwebs and came to realize that most CO2 cartridges are larger than your requirements.
Since you didn't post your connection requirements I don't know if the use of a closed end tube might work.
I made somewhat larger sampling cylinders using a closed end tube with a tubing connection, The only expendable item was the wedge ring on the fitting.

You might look at the capabilities of these two companies and approach it from using the appropriate length of tubing.

To be honest I was thinking more on the lines of the following:

Would require at least one, but preferably two, threaded ends G1/8" or G1/4". The ideal would be a similar diameter to that shown above, but ~1/3 of the length.

To use a sealed pipe from scratch would require passing of pressure directives etc...!! Not worth it for the quantities! Would prefer an existing pressure vessel - even a small (~45g) CO2 cylinder as used in self-inflating bicycle pumps

Check with chemical metering pump manufacturers, LMI, Pulsa-feeder, Prominent, they have small hydro tanks to balance the pulses of the chemical pumps
