Hello Everyone,

Is it necessary to check slenderness of pipe roof bracing elements?

Ref Code; AISC 360-05

Yes, if the braces are in compression. Not so much if in tension, but the sag should be limited.

Note that some building codes in high-seismic areas will mandate minimum L/r ratios for bracing regardless of whether they are tension/compression or tension only. This is necessary to ensure sufficient ductility of the overall framing system.
