Is anyone running Windows XP(32) and SW 2009 SP1.0 getting multiple processes running of the executeable SldShellExtServer.exe?

It appears to happen when a Windows Explorer window is opened to a directory that has SW files in it. As the program generates a thumbnail, these multiple processes start. Right now I have about 75 instances of SldShellExtServer.exe running due to opening the explorer window.

Thanks

This appears with and without SolidWorks open.

thanks

Do you need/want to use the thumbnails? They can be a drain on system performance.

Try disabling the thumbnail option at Tools > Options > System options. Reboot and restart SW.

[cheers]

FYI - Just a did a complete re-install and upgrade to SP 1.0.

All problems appear to be resolved now.

This install I made sure 1.)I stopped all processes related to virus protection prior to install and 2.)made sure the install was done with complete admin rights (our IT likes to "help" us by taking away admin rights!)
